data-end=\"1350\">On the supply side, the IEA expects global production to expand by 2.5 million b\/d this year, about 30% higher than earlier estimates. This sharp uptick, largely from OPEC producers led by Saudi Arabia, has pushed the market into oversupply.<\/p><ul data-start=\"1352\" data-end=\"1731\"><li data-start=\"1352\" data-end=\"1460\"><p data-start=\"1354\" data-end=\"1460\">Brent crude prices have already slipped by more than 12% in 2025, trading near $65 a barrel.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1461\" data-end=\"1604\"><p data-start=\"1463\" data-end=\"1604\">Excess production earlier this year was absorbed into storage, with China alone taking on more than 90% of the second-quarter increase.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1605\" data-end=\"1731\"><p data-start=\"1607\" data-end=\"1731\">From autumn onward, however, the IEA anticipates a persistent surplus of around 2 million b\/d, lasting well into 2026.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-94711f2 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"94711f2\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-16cd96d elementor-widget elementor-widget-the7-heading\" data-id=\"16cd96d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"the7-heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"the7-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Risks and Uncertainty Ahead<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-433e458 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"433e458\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"1767\" data-end=\"2005\">Despite the oversupply, the IEA noted that the balance could shift quickly if US sanctions intensify on Russia or Iran, the world\u2019s third- and fifth-largest oil producers. Such geopolitical shocks could tighten markets unexpectedly.<\/p><p data-start=\"2007\" data-end=\"2224\">Meanwhile, OPEC\u2019s outlook differs sharply. The oil cartel projects stronger demand growth and lower non-OPEC supply, forecasting demand to rise by 1.38 million b\/d in 2026\u2014nearly double the IEA\u2019s projection.<\/p><p data-start=\"2226\" data-end=\"2581\">Adding to the confusion, the three major forecasting bodies\u2014the IEA, OPEC, and the US Energy Information Administration (EIA)\u2014disagree on storage trends. On one side, Saudi-led production growth is flooding markets and pressuring prices. On the other, demand forecasts are being revised lower amid trade tensions and slowing economies.<\/p><p data-start=\"2845\" data-end=\"3059\">For now, the IEA sees a world awash in oil.
